Calpe grew fast from the late 1960s, and much of that growth was apartment blocks, each run by a community of owners. We renovate apartments and villas here for owners who live abroad, and deal with the community on your behalf.

We cover Calpe and nearby

Calpe (Calp is the official, Valencian name) wraps around the Penyal d'Ifac, with beaches on either side and urbanizaciones on the hills behind. We work in all of them:

Neighbouring towns: Benissa, Altea, Moraira.

We are based in València (Av. de Francia 2), about 1.5–2 h from Calpe by road (about 122 km). Site visits by appointment.

What homes in Calpe need

Calpe is an apartment town as much as a villa town. Its building boom started in the late 1960s, and only 9% of its properties predate 1971 (see the local facts below). Much of that growth was apartment blocks, each with a community of owners that shares the facade, the roof and the risers.

Renovating an apartment in one of those blocks is a job of coordination as much as building. The community’s administrator needs to know what is happening, the neighbours need to know when the noise will stop, and anything that touches the shared parts of the building needs approval first. We take care of that so it does not land on you from abroad.

The villas are mostly in the urbanizaciones on the hills, such as La Cometa, Enginent, La Merced and Calpe Park. Many date from the same decades and share the same needs: new services, better windows, and terraces that work for long summer stays.

Renovation services in Calpe

Many Calpe homes are apartments with sea views in blocks from the 1970s onwards; the urbanizaciones on the hills hold the villas.

We work with local architects, interior designers and structural engineers.

Permits in Calpe

In a Calpe apartment, two sets of rules apply. The Ajuntament de Calp deals with the permit: usually a declaración responsable for a reform inside the apartment that keeps the structure. The community of owners has its say on anything touching the facade, the roof, the structure or the shared risers. Near the Penyal d'Ifac we check whether protected-land rules apply before planning outside work.

Permits are issued by the Ajuntament de Calp. Electronic office of the Ajuntament de Calp. · Our licence guide.

Away for the season?

Nine in ten Calpe homes were built between 1971 and 2011, and six in ten are not a main residence. In an apartment block, works follow the community of owners' rules on approvals, hours and shared areas; we handle all of that while you are abroad.

Questions owners ask about Calpe

My Calpe apartment is in a block. Who has to approve the works?

The Ajuntament de Calp for the permit, and the community of owners for anything that touches shared elements such as the facade, the roof, the structure or the shared risers. Work inside your apartment alone is mostly your own decision. We check which applies and prepare what the community needs.

Calpe or Calp?

The same town. Calp is the official, Valencian name, which is why the town hall is the Ajuntament de Calp; Calpe is the Spanish name most visitors use.

Does land around the Penyal d'Ifac change what I can do?

It can, for plots on or next to protected land. We check each property's position before planning any outside work.

Can you renovate my apartment without disturbing the neighbours too much?

We find out the building's rules on working hours, use of the lift and deliveries before we start, protect the shared areas and keep the administrator informed. Noisy work is planned into the permitted hours.
